I have been painting since I was 10 years old and was totally self taught until my late 20s. Since that time I have spent a summer semester at the Corcoran Art School and have taken many dozens of courses at the Art League School and the Smithsonian Institute including drawing, painting (oil, watercolor, acrylics) stained glass and art history. I have studied with Mike Francis, Kurt Schwartz and Steve Fleming at the Art League and Robert Stackhouse at the Corcoran.
In addition I have studied physics, optics and vision science, as well as, set design and electronics, all of which contribute to my choice of materials and overall approach
